Tongue-tie Assessments

As a trained health professional, I routinely assess for any oral restrictions (including tongue-tie) which may impact a baby's ability to feed efficiently.

I will examine your baby to evaluate their oral anatomy and tongue function.  I will also need to observe a full feed.  If I feel that tongue movement is restricted and this is affecting your baby's ability to feed efficiently, I will refer you to a tongue-tie practitioner.  Please note that I do not perform tongue-tie releases.

My expertise comes from completing an an OCN Level 4 accredited course in 'tongue-tie and infant feeding', taught by the esteemed Sarah Oakley.  I have also worked alongside specialist ENT consultants at The Portland Hospital, supporting their tongue-tie clinics.
